Time to dust off your 'Why'

A Why to Live For.jpg

It's easy to get trapped in the 'how' of life.

After all, it's what we humans are designed to do. We have a whole list of 'whats' to complete in any given day, and the key task of our thinking brains is to work out 'how' best to achieve them.

But if we don't spend time considering 'why' we are doing what we do, then the 'whats' and the 'hows' might end up leading us in completely the wrong direction. And even if we are heading in the right direction, the 'how' that drives the 'what' can be tough to do sometimes. It can feel monotonous, difficult or challenging - but if we remind ourselves 'why' we are doing it, it becomes so much easier to bear.

May I suggest that you make today the day that you dust off your 'why,' and remind yourself where you are heading, what's important to you, and why you are doing the work you do. It will be like a tonic to revive your spirits and give you a boost.

Because when it comes to motivation, 'why' trumps an entire army of 'whats' and 'hows.'
